One of the great American soul and R&B legends. By 1962 he was was already charting for Stax. He electrified the audience with his 1967 Monterey Pop Festival performance which would also be his last. "(Sittin' On) The Dock of The Bay," was recorded only days before he perished in a Wisconsin plane crash.
